University of Waterloo Steel Bridge
University of Waterloo Steel Bridge Design Team comprises passionate engineering students who apply classroom and workplace knowledge to a unique design challenge. Engaging in hands-on experiences, we navigate all stages of structural steel design, from conception to fabrication and to construction.
About Us
Our team includes an array of talented engineers from different programs and years, divided up into 4 major sub-teams.
Design
Responsible for planning and designing team bridge using 3D CAD software for structural integrity and deflection.
Fabrication
Responsible for fabrication of steel bridge components by welding and laser cutting.
Construction
Responsible for constructing the bridge during yearly competitions in an efficient and timely manner.
Public Relations & Finance
Responsible for Financing, Budget Estimation, and team recruiting and engagement.
Award Placements
With more than 10 years of experience, we work weeks on end to strive for the best placement possible at every competition.
